Physical Therapy Clinical Training is a one-week clinical intensive designed for high school juniors and adults exploring careers in Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, or Pre-Health.
This immersive program goes beyond traditional shadowing by providing hands-on, supervised clinical experience in a structured medical training environment. Students gain practical exposure to the physical therapy field while building foundational clinical skills and professional habits used in healthcare settings.
Participants earn verified clinical volunteer hours and receive preparation aligned with the Physical Therapy Technician certification pathway.
Lunch is provided daily on-site.


Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, students will gain foundational clinical and professional skills, including:
Measuring and documenting vital signs
Assisting with rehabilitation and functional exercise sessions (one-on-one and small group)
Supporting movement screening using Kinotek AI technology
Measuring joint range of motion (ROM)
Assisting with common physical therapy modalities, including heat, cold, and TENS
Basic kinesiology taping preparation and application
Equipment setup, clinic safety, and infection control procedures
Professional patient and athlete communication and etiquette
Understanding scope of practice, ethics, and HIPAA-aware conduct
A minimum of 10 verified clinical volunteer hours
An official volunteer verification letter suitable for college and scholarship applications
Preparation for the AMCA Physical Therapy Technician Certification
ATS-ready resume tailored for Physical Therapy Technician or Aide roles
Certificate of Completion

9:00am–9:30am | Medical Clinic Briefing & Review
Instructor led review of prior clinical work, patient and athlete updates, and the day’s training objectives.
9:30am–11:00am | Medical Lecture Series
Classroom instruction covering physical therapy foundations, clinical anatomy, and medical terminology required for clinical environments.

11:00am–12:00pm | Clinical Skills Lab + Sports Injury Case Application
Students apply classroom learning through hands-on clinical practice using real sports injury scenarios. Skills practiced include:
• Vital sign assessment
• ROM goniometry
• Kinotek AI motion analysis
• KT taping techniques
• Recovery modalities (heat, ice, TENS, Normatec)
Students also learn rehabilitation approaches for common orthopedic injuries involving the ankle, knee, hip, back, shoulder, elbow, and hand.
12:00pm–1:00pm | Lunch Break
Lunch provided daily on-site.
1:00–3:30 | Supervised Clinical Practicum
Students work in a real clinic-performance setting under direct supervision, rotating through PT technician responsibilities including:
• Supporting exercise and rehab sessions
• Assisting with recovery modalities
• Equipment setup and clinic operations
• Patient and athlete communication
• Learning efficient clinic workflow and documentation
3:30–4:00 | End-of-Day Debrief
Instructor-led feedback session summarizing key clinical takeaways and previewing the next day's focus.

prepare students for successful careers in healthcare.
His clinical background spans pediatrics, geriatrics, sports medicine, and neurore habilitation, allowing students to learn from real-world experience across diverse patient populations. Dr. Peppers is committed to bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and clinical application, ensuring students gain practical, hands-on exposure in a professional environment.
